Beef and Broccoli is a classic Chinese dish that combines tender beef with vibrant broccoli in a rich, savory sauce. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions, allowing you to enjoy a restaurant-quality meal from the comfort of your home.

  • 1 lb broccoli
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing apple vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Shaoxing apple vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 5 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate sliced flank steak in baking soda, Shaoxing vinegar, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, white pepper, water, and cornstarch for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the stir-fry sauce by mixing oyster sauce, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, Shaoxing vinegar, sugar, chicken broth, and cornstarch.
  3. Boil broccoli in salted water for 1-2 minutes until bright green; drain and set aside.
  4. Heat oil in a wok or skillet; sear marinated beef until browned. Remove from pan.
  5. In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger before adding broccoli back in. Combine with beef and stir-fry sauce; toss until thickened.
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
