  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable broth
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 dried Chinese chili peppers
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce by mixing vegetable broth, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, black pepper, and sesame oil in a bowl.
  2. Create a slurry by combining cornstarch and water in another bowl.
  3. Steam broccoli in a skillet with water for 1 minute until bright green.
  4. Sauté mushrooms in peanut oil until browned, then add garlic, ginger, and chili peppers.
  5. Combine everything, add the sauce and slurry, and cook until thickened.
